New Pain Care Clinic Now Offering True Multi-Disciplinary Approach To Treating Pain

BEDFORD, NH (June 11, 2007) -- According to the American Pain Society, pain is the leading public health problem in the U.S. resulting in more than $50 million in lost workdays each year. Today, a solution is at hand. Integrated Pain Care is now open and available for referred patients in the southern New Hampshire area. The pain center is located at 20 Washington Place, Bedford, N.H.

With singular treatments offering varying degrees of relief, the American Pain Society panel of experts has identified that a multi-disciplinary treatment approach is the most effective way and best option offered to address the complex problem of chronic pain. IPC offers a unique, comprehensive approach to pain relief practiced by pain specialists. IPC providers coordinate and manage a patient's care through individualized treatment plans. IPC then integrates these plans with a network of preferred specialty providers who offer advanced treatment options in physical therapy, mental health, occupational medicine and pain intervention. Conditions treated include all acute and chronic pain disorders, including musculoskeletal pain, cancer pain, neuropathic disorders, and work-related injuries.

Integrated Pain Care Clinical Administrator Joshua D. Dion, PhD(c), APRN-BC, ACNP, has worked as a pain specialty nurse practitioner and has been involved in pain research for the past five years. He teaches acute care nurse practitioner students and is a member of the adjunct faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions (MGH IHP) in Boston. "I'm thrilled to help bring multi-disciplinary pain treatment to the Bedford area," says Mr. Dion, "and I'm looking forward to meeting with patients to discuss how Integrated Pain Care can best address their pain issues."

Integrated Pain Care is committed to managing pain symptoms and improving quality of life. It is comprised of a staff of highly qualified pain-care providers allied with a network of carefully selected preferred specialists to develop customized patient treatment plans from a variety of advanced options for the treatment of pain.
